I recently read this old Japanese Proverb:
“The mightier the rice becomes, the more it bows its head.”
The point is that the stronger you become, the more humble you should be.
Let’s talk about strength.
It’s defined as ‘the quality or state of being strong.’ We can be physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually strong. There’s also financial strength, strength of character, etc. My purpose is not to list all the types of ‘strength’ today, but to get your mind in the right place about being strong.
I remember learning long ago, I think as a Marine, that the truly strong ones are the ones who are able to be gentle in their strength. I learned that just because you have greater strength doesn’t mean you need to use it.
True strength means you’re not an ass.
If your strength is your spirituality…then show more grace.
If you’re mentally strong…use that strength to keep others focused and encouraged.
If it’s your wallet…then, pony up and use those dead Benjamin’s to serve and provide.
Your true strength…your Mightiness Factor…will be determined by your humility.
