"SCALE IS A Dirty Word"
You've probably heard that the key to profitability is to do larger jobs

I've heard it too.

But it's simply not true.

The key to profit is selling and producing jobs for a higher gross profit.

Period.

It doesn't matter the size of the job.

You may have also heard that you need to "scale" to build wealth.

Again, I call bullshit.

I've met contractors who only do $500,000 per year in sales, yet put $200,000 of that in their pocket.

On the other hand, I've talked with some who do $2,000,000 a year and can't afford their truck payment.

Once again, the secret isn’t scaling, it’s selling at higher margins. 
The Recession Will Be Here “Next Month”
 If you watch cable news or read the headlines, a recession has been coming “next month” for almost two years now.

Sadly, many contractors believed the pundits and took their foot off the gas.

They prepared for a non-existent storm by shrinking back and watching month after month after month.

Meanwhile, their competitors continued to book themselves out for weeks in advance - maybe years.

But here’s the thing – whether a recession arrives or not, only one thing will save your ass…consistently selling jobs at a high profit.
 
How I Survived 2008

As the economy began to self-destruct in the fall of 2008, I watched my painting competitors shrink back.

They laid off all their employees.

They sold at ridiculously low prices.

They went into panic mode.

 Instead, my partner and I did the opposite.

We kept every single employee and we RAISED our prices.

We went into UNAFRAID mode.

And it saved my business.

Most contractors who hear this think we were nuts.

But then, most contractors think customers buy solely based on price.
 
The Secret Sales & Profit Strategies You Weren’t Told

My 2008 story is the perfect illustration of why most contractors go out of business in just a few short years.

It’s why so many contractors went bankrupt in 2008/2009.

Because they don’t understand how profit and sales are linked.

You probably didn’t go to finance school and you probably don’t have a personal banker or CFO.

So you sell on instinct.

You go with your gut.

And sometimes going with your gut is a great thing. But not when it comes to the finances of your business.

The profit of your company is simply a math problem…

But no one gave you the formula.

Until now.

  My name is Tom Reber  
Each year I gather hundreds of contractors in Denver, Colorado for The Mile High Profit Summit.
But before I became a highly sought-after speaker and coach, just like you, I was a home improvement contractor.

I spent years doing everything the wrong way.

It’s a miracle I didn’t put myself out of business.

But I was determined to make a real company out of what started as a struggling side hustle in the Chicago suburbs.

I learned some very hard (and expensive!) lessons along the way.

In 2012, I sold my share of the company and became a full-time speaker and business coach for contractors.

Since then I’ve spoken in front of millions of people, written a best-selling book, and even had my own HGTV show for a while.

MICHELLE “MACE” CURRAN
 Michelle, also known as MACE, led an impressive career as a Fighter Pilot during her 13 years in the United States Air Force. From 2019-2021, she flew as the only female pilot for the Air Force Thunderbirds and performed for millions across the country and internationally. Upon joining this high performing team, she rapidly discovered the best part was not the flying, but the opportunity to inspire others. Michelle was only the 2nd woman to fly as the Lead Solo in the Thunderbird demonstration since the team’s creation in 1953.

She realized this put her in a unique position to empower others. Drawing on over a decade in high-performance aviation and her own transformation, Mace teaches audiences what they are capable of when they let go of fear, lean into vulnerability, and make bold choices. Mace shares her struggles with self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and finding her identity in a high performance, type-A culture.  
DAN MILLER
Dan is an internationally renowned nutrition and fitness expert, developing health and wellness programs for all walks of life. As a Vistage CEO Network Speaker of the Year, he has presented his life-extending strategies to tens of thousands of executives worldwide; helping them to live longer and healthier lives, reduce healthcare costs, and achieve greater personal and workplace productivity.

Dan is not only a global leader in nutrition and fitness, he’s a 40-year veteran of the martial arts. He has practiced, coached, and studied many disciplines including Jiu Jitsu, kickboxing, and Tae Kwon Do. Physical feats are no stranger to Dan as he is also a former Guinness World Endurance Record holder for the 48-Hour Treadmill Marathon Event.

STEVE ROZENBERG
 Steve Rozenberg is an accomplished international commercial airline pilot who, following the tragic events of 9/11, realized that his once "safe and secure" career was far from stable.

In 2021, I attended Mile High Profit Summit. My business was struggling, my finances were a mess and my faith in God was weaker than it had ever been. At the end of the event, I stood up, legs shaking, through tears, in front of 300+ men and women and owned it. I shared how terrified I was of my own future. My reputation was one of getting in my own way and failing to meet my potential and provide, how could my future be any different? The shock for me came after. When countless people walked up to me, tears in their eyes, hugging me and telling me "you have no idea how long I have felt that way."

In 2022, at the same event, Tom Reber invited me to share about the impact of that singular moment truly had. That sole choice not only saved my business, it doubled it. I don't look at my family, my faith or my future and see future regrets. I see a trajectory of growth I never would have acknowledged through my fear. It IS a daily battle, but it is not one I am afraid to fight. It was such an incredible privilege to reflect and see the impact that was left. Once again having so many people express similar feelings and a newfound boldness to take that fear head on was inspiring.

No. Lodging is separate. We have secured a limited number of discounted rooms at Book your room as soon as possible because it will sell out quickly.

We encourage you to room share with other members who are attending the event if you'd like to further reduce costs.

If The Westin does sell out, there are other hotels within walking distance.

Kids 16 and under can attend MHPS free of charge. There is a Family Room available for all kids and their parents. It’s a great place to watch the sessions while the kids play games or do activities.

It’s a super long event for little ones so if your child needs a break from the main session, we ask that you utilize the Family Room so as not to disturb the other attendees.

The Family Room is not a place to leave children unattended. While we will have licensed staff there to help entertain kids, they can not be responsible for your child.

Refunds are not available for this event. But you can transfer your ticket to someone else. Please contact help@thecontractorfight.com

This event is for contractors in any industry who want to increase their profits no matter where they're starting from. Contractors from all industries (roofing, landscaping, general contracting, electrical, hvac, painting, and more) will attend.

You don’t need to be a certain size either. No matter the size of your organization, you’ll walk away with something new.

The entire event is "contractor casual." You'll fit right in at any function in jeans and a t-shirt or khakis and a button-down. (This includes the networking events. Think of attending an after hours event at your local chamber of commerce.) But wear a suit and tie and we'll ask you to leave. lol
The only exception is Chris' early morning exercise class. There you'll need something comfortable and loose fitting.
